Getting organized

My life is hardly organized (and for a newspaper editor, I'm not sure that's a good thing), but I've been trying to do better.

Here are couple of things that have helped me out lately.

Instant organization!

When we moved into our house about three years ago, one of the things the previous owners left behind was this metal shoe hanger/rack on the inside of the closet door in the master bedroom.

I love scarves! I mean, I really, really love scarves! So, one day, I decided this might be a better place to  put them, instead of keeping them in a random bag in the coat closet that I had to search through each time I wanted to wear one.

They're now up, out of the way and visible enough to choose whichever one tickles my fancy.

As an added bonus, I can still store shoes on the rack when necessary.

Whoever invented this little beauty deserves a bear hug, at the very least. I spotted a similar contraption in Cato and surfed around on Amazon, but accidentally ran into this hanger for $12.99 at TJ Maxx. I LOVE that all my jewelry is visible so there's no digging through a jewelry box to find what I'm looking for. And, I know you were wondering, there are just as many clear pockets on the other side.
